Maguro (tuna) Festival

The last Saturday in January

This festival is held at the market where more fresh tuna are landed than anywhere else in Japan. Visitors can sample tuna cuisine, especially “kabuto-yaki,” a famous dish made by baking tuna heads in a covered pan. Other enjoyable events include displays and sales of tuna products, as well as games.
