Shirarahama is a beach in Shirahama Town with a climate that is comparatively warm for Honshu. The swimming season here, is pronounced open on May 3, and the beach is famous for having the earliest-starting swimming season in Honshu. Shirarahama Beach is the “sister beach” of Waikiki Beach, and the beautiful contrast between its powdery white sand and marine blue ocean is sure to leave an impression. In Summer the beach is lined with sun umbrellas made of palm leaves, creating a tropical mood.
